EUROPEAN ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL COMMITTEE
Like the Committee of the Regions, the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) is a consultative body composed of representatives of the European social and economic field. Founded in 1957 under the Treaty of Rome, it allows groups of economic and social interest (employers, trade unions and other interest groups) to present their views on the different fields such as regional policy, environment, etc.
