INTERACT WITH THE EUROPEAN UNION
The development of the European citizenship is a fundamental action priority in the European Union. The new programme presented by the European Commission, “Citizens for Europe 2007-2013”, pretends to provide the European Union with the necessary instruments to promote European citizenship.
The introduction of the above-mentioned programme tackles with the need to eliminate the existent distance between citizens and the European institutions. For this purpose, it is appealed to reinforce the cohesion among Europeans. Consequently, the European Union launched numerous information centres in all Member States, so that the citizens can meet their responsibilities of European citizenship and participate actively in the making of Europe. |
